Soria Living Lab is a local but open initiative for the economical and social promotion of the area through a new methodology for innovation that is working all around Europe and world.
A Living Lab is "a community with a sustainable strategy for a systemic innovation in real scenarios willing to share knowledge, services and even developments through win-win strategies"
Soria Living Lab was born as one of the working Living Lab designed in the project Collaboration At Rural (C@R).
C@R is an Integrated Project, founded by the IST  Priority of the EC 6th Framework Programme with a budget of EUR 15 million and 33 project partners. C@R aims to boost the introduction of Collaborative Working Environments (CWE) as key enablers catalyzing rural development. It proposes a complete set of research activities and tasks which will identify, develop and validate technological responses to actual barriers jeopardizing the sustainable development in rural areas. See C@R Project for more information.
In Soria Living Lab the goal is to offer technical support and services to enterprising and new entrepreneurs in Soria area for the promotion of business and economy activities. The underlying goal is to promote these rural areas preventing them for the out migration, and to improve the final services for these inhabitants, contributing with their integration in the knowledge-based society and, as a result, to improve their quality of life.
Soria is taken an example of a technologically run-down rural area to implement a business incubator technological platform, taking in this Living Lab, with the final idea of spreading it out to the rest of rural areas with similar characteristics.
Soria Living Lab is mainly supported by local public administration working in the municipalities involved, and ADEMA Local Action Group. See ADEMA description for more information.
With the aim of cement the importance, visibility and sustainability of this Living Lab, it has been presented to the European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL) trying to be included in its second wave to be able to participate in the shared of knowledge, expertises and good practices on the application of these methodology. See ENoLL website for more information.
Soria Living Lab is one of the candidates to take part in the future Spanish Network of Living Labs.
